Description
Duties:
The Ozone Transport Commission, an organization of 13 Mid-Atlantic and
Northeast States (including the District of Columbia) Environmental
Commissioners and Air Directors, is seeking a Deputy Director to serve in its
Washington, D.C. Office.
The Deputy Director is second in charge of the organization, assisting the
Executive Director in policy, planning and organizational matters.
- The Deputy will
directly supervise the business manager and administrative functions of the
organization, including grants management, personnel policy and benefits, and
day-to-day operations of the organization. - In addition to these responsibilities the
Deputy will assist in development and implementation of air pollution programs
and policy for the region, including management of specific programs and
projects related to air pollution in the region.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have:
- Excellent communication, supervisory and management skills;
- Experience in air pollution policy and management;
Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act and state regulatory programs
and;-
Experience and understanding of financial management in a government or
not-for-profit business setting. -
Experience with mobile source emissions evaluation, policy and control is a plus.

Minimum qualifications include a BA or BS degree in a related field from an
accredited college or university - and 10 years progressively responsible
experience in the environmental field, with specific responsibilities in air pollution
management.
