Description
The Sustainable Center of South San Francisco is a mixed-use green marketplace. Housed under one roof are green: retail, education, and businesses for the public and private sectors to access. We are a dynamic, motivating, community resource for local governments, green businesses, and the public to meet. The Sustainable Center is a junction for people to co-op their resources and marketing to further the growth of the new green market.
Position Overview:
The intern will be responsible for assisting in creating, editing, and publishing the Sustainable Center's monthly newsletter, researching new green products and technology, searching for articles discussing the Sustainable Center, and attending green events. The newsletter will ultimately become a magazine as readership and content expand. The intern will also be responsible for spending time on the tradeshow floor, learning the green building products and services that are available, and help educate the public on green building.
Qualifications:
•Must be reliable, detail-oriented and well organized.
•Should have a high level of competence in computer and Internet technology
•Must have an entrepreneurial spirit; ready and able to move fast, be very task and accomplishment oriented, change priorities as required, and be versatile and flexible.
•Must be passionate about sustainability, and have strong environmental writing skills
•Must have excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
