Duties And Responsibilities:
Coordinate ongoing development of the Harvard High Performance Building Resource, which is a web-based tool designed to be a living resource for all of Harvard's green building projects going forward. The Resource is designed to ensure that Harvard's staff and consultants benefit from lessons learned on each green building project undertaken at Harvard University. Identify model green building specification language, model LEED submittals, and key project features from various Harvard Building projects; research and identify high performance building materials, products and technologies; coordinate with the HGCI web developer on aesthetics, user interface, security issues and operability; complete current plans for the Resource and maintain its currency with LEED; work closely with Harvard staff to train them in effective use of the Resource and to solicit feedback; assist with development of new capacities within the Resource, which will involve addressing key high performance building resource needs at all stages of the design and construction process. It will also involve expanding the resource to support efforts in laboratory building design and renovation along with building maintenance and operations.
UOS requires pre employment drug, reference and background screening. This is a 12 month term position.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
Related undergraduate and/or graduate degree. Knowledge of the USGBC rating system LEED necessary, LEED accredited professional recommended. Professional experience with high performance building design preferred. Some professional experience in construction administration, spec writing, and construction documents preferred. Familiarity with a broad range of sustainable technologies encouraged. Demonstrated interest through course work or professional experience in sustainability and/or addressing the ecological impacts of building design and construction essential.
Qualified applicants must have excellent team skills; must be able to understand and synthesize the thoughts of others; must have good attention to detail; must be experienced with computer based work and must be very fast learners.
