Since 1976, the Center for Ecological Technology (CET), a non-profit (501c3) organization, engages in work that demonstrates and promotes practical, affordable solutions to the environmental challenges encountered in our daily activities. CET's mission is "to research, develop, demonstrate and promote those technologies which have the least disruptive impact on the natural ecology of the Earth." From offices in Pittsfield, Northampton and Springfield, CET finds sustainable solutions to complex issues in order to benefit our environment, health, economy, and community.

Position Overview: 

This position coordinates the insulating of houses in the MassSAVE program. MassSAVE is a statewide effort to improve the energy efficiency of homes. After customers receive an energy audit, they may elect to contract with CET for insulation and air sealing services. This position oversees the contracts that are changed part-way through the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Speaking with customers about work to be completed on their homes
  • Answering questions and providing information about contracted work
  • Making changes to contracts to meet changing circumstances
  • Understanding and following building codes, Building Performance Institute standards, and MassSAVE program rules for contracted work
  • Preparing revised work orders and sending to insulation companies
  • Troubleshooting jobs where the contractor arrives at the home but finds different conditions than expected
  • Calling or visiting customers to resolve complaints and collect payment
  • Tracking customer involvement in loan program
  • Supervising 1-2 administrative staff members

  • Knowledge and experience with energy efficiency and construction or retrofit
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer and database skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: Salaried position with benefits.

This position will be a full-time, year-round and requires a minimum of 35 hours per week, the expected range of hours per week is 35-42.5. The position will be based at our Pittsfield office.
