As a leading Environmental, Civil, Water Resources, Construction and Energy Engineering and Management small business that also conducts Environmental Research and development, we are seeking an individual to fill the position of Construction Manager for the implementation of a major commercial development within the city of Pittsburgh.
Position Overview:
Green Building Construction Experience is critical. Besides the qualifications described below, we are looking for individuals who are self-starters and good communicators with ability to work a flexible schedule at times.
Responsibilities:
Duties may include the following:
- Handle contractors, subcontractors and submittals of bid packages and compare estimates received from the bidders. Negotiate change orders with the Owner and issues change orders to the subcontractors.
- Coordinate all construction activities and schedule the time required to meet established deadlines.
- Ensure that site workers are following all safety rules and regulations.
- Hold regular meetings with the owners, trade contractors, architects, and design professionals to monitor and coordinate all phases of the construction project.
- Prepare daily reports
- Review contractor's schedule
- Assist the contractor in planning for and scheduling of required inspections
- Monitor inspection testing
- Review and provide input on potential change order issues
- Maintain project records
- Manage project photographic records
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- At least 2 year of commercial construction experience with green buildings
- LEED AP certification
- willingness to travel within the City of Pittsburgh
