African Conservation Experience is a UK based operator with over 10 years experience in organising conservation volunteering placements.
Position Overview:
Due to a rapid increase in volunteers joining us from North America, we are looking for a new member in the USA to join our team. The role is open to candidates from all of the US as you will be working from your own home, reporting to the UK office.
Responsibilities
- Advise potential volunteers on project choice and volunteering options
- Handle all communications with volunteers from North America, from initial inquiries to brochure requests, placement applications and travel documentation
- Set up conservation placements for North American volunteers
- Provide logistical support to volunteers, including sourcing flights and insurance
- Assist the UK office with marketing activities in the US if needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- A passion for wildlife conservation and Africa
- Strong customer service skills
- Self-motivated and independent worker
- Good computer literacy
- Experience in a sales role in the travel industry advantageous but not essential
- Undergraduate qualification in a relevant subject desirable
- Must be able to work from home
- Travel experience in southern Africa beneficial
- Must be resident in the US and have the right to work there
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. Other benefits: 20 days paid holiday per year
