Resources Law Group, LLP, seeks an associate attorney with a strong academic
record and outstanding practice skills to join a unique and growing natural resource
practice in Sacramento.
Resources Law Group is an innovative law and consulting firm that helps identify
and achieve strategic natural resource conservation goals for philanthropic
foundations and individuals, public agencies, private landowners, and non- profit
organizations. The firm contains multi-disciplinary teams of attorneys and
consultants with extensive backgrounds in federal, state, and local government, as
well as in conservation finance and the non-profit sector. The firm engages
principally in matters pertaining to the conservation of land and water resources,
creating lasting conservation outcomes in land-use planning and natural resources
law and policy. The firm has extensive experience in landscape-level approaches
to conservation, land and water acquisitions, financing mechanisms, and in
regulatory natural resource planning processes.
Duties:
The Conservation Associate position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities,
including researching and analyzing state and federal natural resource laws,
policies, funding opportunities and regulations, designing innovative and meaningful
strategies, representing clients before state and federal agencies, drafting legal
documents, and collaborating with other decision makers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have at least three years of experience in the field of natural
resources law. - Experience with the federal Endangered Species Act, real estate
transactions, and land use planning are also desired. - Creativity, exceptional analytic
and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently are important. - Excellent writing skills are essential.
