Alliance works with many public and private partners to ensure that the
Bronx River corridor and greenway are ecological, recreational,
educational and economic resources for the surrounding communities. The

  • Staff the Education Team, which serves as a networking source for

  • Work with a consultant to create a Bronx River Classroom
curriculum packet, adapting materials from Bronx River teachers to meet
New York State standards. Work closely with the school system to
incorporate Bronx River projects into school curricula.
  • Organize student symposia and educator roundtables to exchange
    ideas and information.
  • Manage the work of a seasonal Canoe Guide to introduce the Bronx
River to youth, families, public officials, etc. by coordinating and
    leading canoe trips.
  • Write content for public education publications, the website,
interpretive signs, and grant proposals and reports.
