Green Restaurant Association (GRA) is a 20-year-old international, non-profit organization with the mission of creating environmental sustainability in the restaurant industry.
Position Overview:
The GRA is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Communications/Marketing Manager. The position involves orchestrating all public relations, marketing, and branding efforts on behalf of the Green Restaurant Association, restaurant clients, and vendor clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement green marketing and pr for restaurant and vendor clients via in-store signage, press releases, social media, etc.
- Creatively enhance the social media marketing of the GRA
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, monthly newsletters, and various contributing articles
- Oversee media research to identify and pursue appropriate media and exposure opportunities and cultivate relationships with media
- Develop and enhance strategic/creative thinking in an effort to grow the GRA brand, and awareness about Certified Green Restaurants® on a national level
- Track and monitor media coverage
- Attend restaurant trade shows as the GRA spokesperson; write and deliver speeches and presentations

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience in PR/Communications and Marketing.
- Skilled at writing compelling articles and successful press releases
- Experience attracting significant media attention
- A vast knowledge of standard media protocols, eg. writing press releases, media outreach, list development, etc.
- Detailed writer that needs little to no editing
- Effective multi-tasking and time management as well as the ability to recognize and set priorities are essential.
- Strong social media professional skills are necessary (Twitter, Facebook, mobile media)
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Ability to make compelling PowerPoint presentations
- Domestic Travel
Will Give Preference to those that also have experience in:
- Graphic Arts (Adobe Indesign)
- Event planning/organizing
- Green Marketing
Compensation: Salary for this position is commensurate with the relevant professional experience and qualifications. A competitive benefits package is included, with health care.
