Since the founding of The White House Project seven years ago, our mission to advance women as leaders has become more crucial than ever before. At a time when our nation needs to be using all of its talent, getting a diverse, progressive and critical mass of women into leadership is a key way to change both the process and product of the institutions of government, business and the media

The White House Project is unique in employing daring new ways to achieve this mission; using creative strategies of public education, popular culture and innovative and important research to close the leadership gap between women and men in the U.S.

One of our major initiatives Vote, Run, Lead? , encourages women to participate in politics through voting, and running for political office as candidates. Currently, Colorado Vote, Run, Lead seeks an energetic Field Organizer to conduct Vote, Run, Lead programming in the state and develop relationships among emerging women leaders and existing leadership groups. The long term outcome of all our work in Colorado will be a critical mass of progressive women in leadership positions across the state.

Responsibilities:
? Maintain the database of Colorado contacts and participants.
? Implement programs and policies recommended by the National office in a manner appropriate for the local constituency.
? Energize and organize the constituency to participate in White House Project sponsored programs and other local events.
? Communicate effectively with constituents and recruit new participants.
? Represents the organization at community events.
? Communicate effectively with the Colorado VRL Manager and the National Office.
? Assist the Colorado Manager in fundraising efforts.
? Take a significant role in planning and implementation of special events.
? Draft letters, invitations and flyers to promote programs and events.
? Perform scheduling and administrative duties necessary to maintain small office.
? Provide all necessary reports to the National office.
? Participate in weekly conference calls with the National Office.

Additional Qualifications:
Qualifications:
?Proven experience with constituency building, community outreach and organizing
?Knowledge of the political landscape in Colorado is a must
?Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Word and Excel and experience creating and maintaining databases.
?Effective oral and written communication skills.
?Detail oriented, organized, efficient, creative, independent and self-directed.
?Marketing, PR or fundraising experience helpful
?Ability to respond quickly to time-sensitive demands and face challenges with a positive, flexible attitude.
?Availability to work some evenings and weekends and have some flexibility with scheduling.
?Passionate about the mission of the organization and committed to working as a team to achieve goals.
