Position Overview 

 

Buddha Teas, an ultra-premium, organically certified, non-GMO, functional herb/holistic health company based out of Carlsbad CA is looking for a Chief Operating Officer! Check out our products! Check out our website!

The candidate we're seeking must live in the San Diego area and have a passion for wellness. Health food consumer product experience is a must. We're seeking applicants that are flexible, self-motivated, can multi-task, is detail oriented & can easily adapt to the challenges of working in a growing company. Candidates with a College education, BA/BS is a must. Candidates need to work at our HQ in Carlsbad.

Responsibilities
 
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of upper management (IT, Marketing, Sales, Admin etc.)
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Write and submit reports to the CEO and CFO in all matters of importance
  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors
Requirements & Skills
 
* Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role
 
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
  • Handling Certifications—Food safety, Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO, CDPH, FDA—weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks
  • Production/Production planning—Batch records written, revised, entered in QB, calendar map updated on a weekly basis. Cover as needed
  • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
  • Purchasing—Issuing PO’s, bill entry for purchases, item receipts for purchases
  • Sales/Forecasting—Monthly, quarterly and annual sales tracking and projecting. Weekly review of Sprouts/KeHE items an availability
  • Amazon—Monthly sales updates with admin, update of production schedule forecast
  • Excel data formatting/training—sales data tracking, production data tracking, commission reporting with admin department
  • R&D—new product development, product testing
  • Working with all departments to oversee overall workflow: admin, production, warehouse, and sales

  • Salary starts at $100,000 annually; salary plus employee profit sharing
