Description

E Energy Adams, LLC is a dry mill plant processing approximately 19 million bushels of corn into 50 million gallons of ethanol per year. We produce both modified wet and dry distillers grain with solubles (DDGS) which are sold to local and regional markets. The plant's energy source is natural gas and rail is provided by BNSF. Our site is capable of handling 85 car trains. We have the ability to transport our ethanol and distillers grains to markets on any coast.  

Position Overview:

The CFO is responsible for all financial aspects of the company. CFO is responsible for maximizing overall plant performance by analyzing data and reporting data to CEO and key employees. Ensures all accounting procedures, company policies, federal and government policies/reporting procedures, company goals and objectives are met.

The CFO is responsible for working with the HR Manager and analyzing all possible benefit changes and assists the CEO in presenting any possible benefit changes to the Executive Committee as well as the Board for final approval.

The CFO will also fill the position of Treasurer of the Board of Directors and report accordingly to the Board. CFO will support all policies, goals and objectives of the company, and will represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance reports and monthly financial statements.
  • Responsible for analysis of financial data.
  • Report company financial condition to CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Provide pertinent information to Management Team in a timely manner.
  • Attend Board meetings to present financial results.
  • Attend Risk Management meetings and monitor policy compliance.
  • Analyze, interpret and record hedging transactions.
  • Present information to Audit Committee.
  • Responsible for review of company insurance coverage and policies. Present insurance coverage and broker recommendations to CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for accounting policies, procedures and systems.
  • Develop, implement and maintain internal and external operating policies relating to the transfer of funds.
  • Reconcile all bank statements.
  • Maintain all accounting records.
  • Oversee accounting staff functions, job assignments and performance.
  • Review all grain delivery sheets and accounts payable invoices and authorize payments.
  • Confirm that all Income Tax reporting requirements are completed timely and accurately.
  • Responsible for reports for county, state and federal regulatory organizations.
  • Responsible for assuring all reports and documents required for SEC compliance are remitted in a timely manner.
  • Verify that information for audits and reviews is provided to appropriate entities in a timely manner.
  • Oversee member record keeping, account maintenance, security agreements, transfers and issuance of stock certificates to ensure SEC compliance.
  • Responsible for participation requirements of Nebraska Advantage Act and LB620 programs.
  • Responsible for TIF and CDBG program procedures.
  • Prepare all BATF forms as required by law.
  • Responsible for all sales, use, excise, feed grains, income and other tax reports.
  • Prepare annual budget for accounting department for CEO and Board review.
  • Prepare, present and maintain company budget.
  • Assist CEO and Management Team with governmental ethanol manufacturing and permitting requirements.
  • Ensure all procedures are carried out in accordance with company budgets and goals.
  • Assist with hiring of business office personnel. Conducts final reviews of new office employees prior to hire.
  • Enforces company programs and policies to ensure a highly effective and motivated workforce. Facilitates communication between employees and between departments.
  • Conducts employee performance reviews annually based on job descriptions to determine salary adjustments, competency, knowledge and contribution of business office staff.
  • Effect disciplinary action on employees who do not follow office procedures, safety procedures or employee handbook.
  • Make written recommendations to CEO as to salary baseline and range for the following year; as well as recommendations for changes to organizational chart and staffing.
  • Submit job description updates to HR Manager. Updates should ensure authority and responsibilities are delegated effectively.
  • Participate in Management Team meetings. Assist in goal planning, review of goals and establishing plan of action to carry out goals.
  • Other duties not listed that need to be accomplished to assure plant success.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
  • Maintain high level of service and work performance, promote team environment and maintain pleasant work environment.
  • Promote E Energy Adams in the community 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience; preferably within ethanol industry or process manufacturing. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with ethanol industry accounting systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with hedging transactions necessary.
  • Experience with SEC and public company reporting helpful.
  • Requires ability to lead accounting staff and make presentations to committees and Board of Directors.
  • Must perform proficiently in Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
