Description
U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a national non-profit organization composed of more than 20,000 organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Its chapter network is comprised of approximately 75+ independent and volunteer-driven non-profit organizations which serve as the local presence of USGBC across eight regions of the United States. The Chapters team acts as the primary point of contact at USGBC for all chapter volunteer leaders and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Support management on staff on various projects
- Compile composite of annual chapter self assessments
- Assist chapter coordinators in producing Regional Snapshots
- Update contact information in communications spreadsheet
- Assist in reorganization of shared drive files
- Ensure each chapter's e-file is fully populated with governance documents
- Assist in logistics and materials preparation for face to face meetings, including Chapter Steering Committee meetings and Chapter Forum at Greenbuild
- Perform general clerical duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Interest in nonprofit management/governance and grassroots/volunteer engagement
- Experience working in an office environment
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot on diverse issues
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to handle rapidly shifting priorities
- Adaptability to new technologies, ability to learn new software applications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
