Position Overview:

The Certification Specialist is responsible for supporting TransFair USA's coffee certification process, licensee training, and reporting system. During the first 6 months of employment, the focus of this role will be on service to licensee accounts including communication of new reporting requirements and training on the new reporting system. The Specialist also provides project assistance with the on-site coffee audit process.

The Specialist reports to the Certification Senior Manager and collaborates with the entire departmental team. This position also has growth potential including into new product categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage certification relationships with TransFair's coffee licensees through email, phone and occasional on-site visits.
  • Provide training and on-going support to licensees in using Certification's reporting system.
  • Audit coffee supply transactions and analyze compliance data and reports.
  • Oversee accuracy of data within spreadsheets, database and supporting documentation.
  • Collect and confirm data for chain of custody auditing on all relevant accounts and coordinate with international partners on data collection and validation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educational or work experience is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years professional work experience, preferably in relationship management, data processing, and international business affairs.
  • Experience with auditing, reconciling, collecting, and analyzing data and reports is preferred.
  • Experience training stakeholders on new technological solutions is desired, e.g. websites, portals, other data entry tools.
  • Candidates who are mission-driven, have non-profit experience, have an interest in sustainable development, and/or enjoy working in a socially responsible business will be given strong preference.
