Position Overview: 

SCS is seeking a highly organized individual to join our certified wood products chain-of-custody (CoC) certification team. This is a full-time, fast-paced position working with a small team of dedicated certification professionals. You will need to be a great communicator (written and oral) both with the team and with our clients around the world. You should be organized and detail-oriented, able to follow regular procedures, yet have a flexible approach to your daily workload.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage a consistent work flow of scheduling, written notifications, and record-keeping,
  • Communicate regularly with clients and auditors regarding work scheduling and certification maintenance; provide clear guidance to clients on the certification process and the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council,
  • Maintain a well-organized electronic filing system and compliance with SCS quality management systems,
  • Participate in regular team meetings, planning and implementation of company and program initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors Degree is necessary, preferably from a top-tier school;
  • Experience with ISO standards, supply chains and/or the certified products industry preferred;
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability, forest conservation, and the missions of Scientific Certification Systems and the Forest Stewardship Council;
  • Superlative organizational skills, ability to prioritize numerous tasks effectively;
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to proof your own work;
  • Experience with computers, and with Outlook, Word, Excel and basic database management;
  • Complete fluency in English with high level of proficiency in written communications;
  • Working knowledge of German, Portuguese or Spanish is a plus;
  • Must be willing to work normal hours, 5 days per week at our Emeryville office.

Compensation: Compensation is based on qualifications and prior experience. SCS offers a competitive benefits package including vacation, health, dental, profit sharing, performance bonuses, and 401(k).
