The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) is a coalition of hunting, fishing and conservation organizations, labor unions, outdoor-related businesses and individuals. In order to guarantee all Americans quality places to hunt and fish, TRCP strengthens laws, policies and practices affecting fish and wildlife conservation by leading partnerships that influence decision makers.
Position Overview:
TRCP is seeking a talented individual committed to fish and wildlife habitat conservation to join our team as the TRCP Center for Responsible Energy Development Director. Qualified candidates can be located in Washington, DC or in the western United States.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the policies and programs approved by the TRCP Board of Directors and Policy Council for the Center for Responsible Energy Development (Center).
- Carry out all administrative and managerial affairs of the Center.
- Implement the directives, policies, procedures and programs of TRCP.
- Employ, administer, supervise, and manage Center staff to ensure that TRCP's energy services, programs and policies are conducted properly and efficiently.
- Lead issue-campaign oriented efforts (e.g., coalition building, grassroots outreach, earned media development, etc.) to effectively promote the goals and mission of the Center and of the TRCP.
- Keep the financial, corporate, and other necessary records of the Center, and prepare and maintain all reports and records required by law.
- Represent TRCP views on issues relating to energy development or energy policy.
- Develop and maintain liaisons with legislative bodies, government resource management agencies, and various conservation professionals.
Key Duties:
- Lead a strong fundraising program to establish the Center as the leading effort on energy policy and wildlife issues, solicit funding to grow and sustain the Center, and work with the CEO and Director of Development to ensure ongoing financial support for the Center and its activities.
- Lead all energy activities to develop strategies and actions that advance conservation policies through policy, science, grassroots, media, and federal and state legislation and regulations.
- Work with TRCP leadership to continue to promote energy policy as one of TRCP's foundational issues and represent CRED on senior staff meetings.
- Coordinate with other TRCP policy centers, TRCP HQ, and other TRCP staff.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with conservation partners and sportsmen's organizations.
