Background:
Wildcanada.net is a national conservation organization that helps Canadians
protect wildlands and wildlife. Because there is a need for a new approach
in the effort to solve Canadas conservation challenges, Wildcanada.net
combines grassroots organizing with sophisticated on-line action centres
that provide conservation-minded Canadians and existing conservation groups
from around the country with ways to protect nature. We help other
organizations apply on-line technology and sound conservation strategy to
their conservation efforts.
Duties:
Wildcanada.net is seeking a dynamic and inspiring individual to work as a
Campaign and Network Coordinator in the organizations Canmore, Alberta
office. This full time position will be responsible for assisting the
Executive Director to develop and implement conservation campaigns across
Canada, but primarily in the Yellowstone to Yukon region of Alberta, British
Columbia, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories of Canada, as well as
developing and servicing Wildcanada.nets rapidly growing on-line network.
About Wildcanada.nets Yellowstone to Yukon Program
The goal of Wildcanada.nets Y2Y Project is to help conservation minded
individuals and existing conservation groups in the Yellowstone to Yukon
region protect wildlands and wildlife, and peoples place in nature, in an
effort to advance the mission and goals of the Yellowstone to Yukon
Conservation Initiative.
About Wildcanada.nets Campaign and Network Development Coordinator
The primary responsibilities of for this position will be:
- To work with Wildcanada.nets partner organizations in the Yellowstone to
Yukon region to help them incorporate Wildcanada.nets forthcoming Y2Y
ActioNet (multiple Wildcanada.net Action Centres functioning together
online) into their conservation campaigns; - To assist our partner groups develop sound conservation strategies for the
on-line tools we provide; - To promote the Y2Y ActioNet using innovative and creative techniques,
including viral marketing, earned and paid media, and word of mouth
marketing; - To assist in the development of Wildcanada.nets network by refining and
implementing a recruitment strategy for the organization; and - To service Wildcanada.nets network of volunteer Riding Coordinators
across Canada.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate:
- The ability to manage multiple and complex tasks, and execute a work plan
successfully under pressure - A passion and knowledge for conservation;
- The ability to communicate complex messages in simple terms;
- Creativity, humour, and enthusiasm;
- A demonstrated ability to create and implement successful conservation
strategies; - Comfort with computers, Excel, Word, and the world wide web;
- The ability to provide meaningful leadership as part of a team;
- The ability to identify conservation opportunities and prioritize
conservation threats, in order to protect wildlands and wildlife.
Salary Range: $34,000 $38,000 CND/year. Wildcanada.net (regrettably) does
not offer additional benefits at this time.

- At least two years of experience on staff or contract, or five years
volunteer experience with a North American conservation or environmental
organization of any size; and - A willingness to live and work in Canmore, Alberta.
