Position Overview:

  • Mechanical Finite Element Analyst of Hybrid Vehicle Battery Packs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide FEA analysis as required for support of programs and projects
  • Author analysis reports and technical documents
  • Communicate directly with Product Engineers and Designers providing feedback on design concepts and suggesting design improvments bases on FEA analysis
  • Communicate directly with Program Managers to provide information on analysis timing and workflow
  • Support Engineering Design Review processes and documentation requirments
  • Support Physical Testing activities with requirments and documentation for CAE correlation testing
  • Work with CAE Technical Specialist to coordinat CAE activities for all programs and to develop best practices for CAE analysis

Qualifications:

  • 3-8 years of progressive CAE/FEA experience
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in an Engineering Consulting environment
  • Business communication skills and knowledge of 6-Sigma Quality processes
  • Demonstrated technical experience in structural analysis
  • Experience and working knowledge of energy storage systems is desired but not required
  • Experience with industry standard FEA codes such as Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, and/or Dyna3D
  • Experience with physical testing in support of CAE correlation
