The Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), a Washington, D. C. based community development corporation.
Job Overview:
LEDC is seeking a bi-lingual Business Program Manager to coordinate a new business consortium pilot project and to assist with the existing Emerging Business Loan Fund. This is a grant-funded position, which must be renewed annually.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
Primary Task: Coordination of the Business Consortium Project
The candidate must be willing to develop a system, which aims to obtain a wide array of discounted services and products to a consortium of business members by economies of scales. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing a business plan/feasibility study;
- Identifying potential products/services;
- Outreach to potential vendors and distributors;
- Developing contractual agreements with vendors and distributors;
- Develop a strategic marketing plan for promotion of program;
- Conduct client information sessions;
- Coordinate multiple follow-up sessions with clients;
- Review and analysis of membership applications;
- Implement a product and services distribution system;
- Conduct follow up reviews with vendors and distributors.
Secondary Task: Junior Loan Officer
LEDC is a designated Community development Finance Institution (CDFI) by the U. S. Department of Treasury. As a member of LEDC's business team, the Business Program Manager will work with the Business Development Manager to educate business owners on LEDC's Emerging Business Loan Fund products and services. She/he will assist in the preparation of loan applications and loan packaging.
The candidate should be able to develop relationships with other lending institutions. She/he will be involved in business training and technical assistance activities of the organization.
Job Qualifications:
- Small business lending and loan underwriting experience;
- Business training experience;
- Preferably 3 years of work experience with US lending institutions;
- Familiar with community development and/or non-conventional financing;
- Experience in developing lending, underwriting and credit procedures and policies; creating innovative financing structures; analyzing secondary market activities.
