Position Overview:
Business Intelligence professionals looking to establish or accelerate their career growth in the white hot energy efficiency industry have an excellent opportunity at EnerNOC, where you'll serve as a technical lead for a best-in-class, real-time energy consumption data system. In this key role within our elite Boston-based BI group, supporting a user community of analysts, you'll make improvements to the metadata database design and develop a slew of automated reporting solutions for all services we deliver through our proprietary EfficiencySMART umbrella (Commissioning, Services and Insight).
It's a high-profile position that will both broaden and deepen your abilities to create and manage detailed data filters and energy savings calculations for sensory data arriving at EnerNOC from building management systems, utility meters, weather stations and other sources. If finding a position focused on emerging technical solutions for energy data analysis is where you want to take your career, you'll find the start-up environment at EnerNOC receptive to your insights and ideas.
Responsibilities:
As our Boston-based Business Intelligence Analyst, your first mission will be to apprentice on our MicroStrategy tool set, with particular emphasis on developing reports via MicroStrategy Desktop and MicroStrategy Web, and supporting our energy analysts in their use of our BI toolset.
As you gain familiarity with the data we view, you'll start leveraging your skills in SQL and PL/SQL (Oracle's procedural extension language for SQL) to resolve issues with how our EfficiencySMART technology is interacting with back-end Oracle databases. The analysts in our user community are serious power users who frequently stretch the limits of our technology, so a key challenge in accommodating their requests will be to root out their precise specifications.
- You will work closely with our energy analysts to develop effective report filters that will involve identifying trends and fault conditions in large datasets.
- You'll be involved in projects incorporating dynamic visualization. The common thread among all your tasks will be investing each of them with a best practices mindset, focused on building out better functionality and better interaction with our databases and our user community.
Other Activities and responsibilities:
- Contribute to the ongoing effort to improve BI toolset workflows and data acquisition processes
- EfficiencySMART sales support (including sales presentation support)
- Participate in corporate initiatives
