EnerNOC unlocks the full value of energy management for our utility and commercial, institutional, and industrial (C&I) customers by reducing real-time demand for electricity, increasing energy efficiency, improving energy supply transparency in competitive markets, and mitigating emissions. We accomplish this by delivering world-class energy management applications including DemandSMARTTM, comprehensive demand response; SiteSMARTTM, data-driven energy efficiency; SupplySMARTTM, energy price and risk management; and CarbonSMARTTM, enterprise carbon management.

Our Energy Network Operations Center (EnerNOC) supports these applications across thousands of C&I customer sites throughout the world. Using our C&I customers' energy usage flexibility, we make capacity, energy, ancillary services, and carbon products available to grid operators and our more than 100 utility customers on demand as a cost-effective alternative to traditional power generation, transmission, and distribution.

Position Overview:

Looking for a fulfilling role where you can utilize your expert sales skills to make a positive impact on the environment? EnerNOC offers exactly this opportunity. We are looking for a talented and driven Business Development Manager to join our small sales team focused on seeding the market with a new energy efficiency software service offering. This is an ideal position for an experienced technical salesperson to help sell and refine a solution, and enjoy the thrill of solving unmet customer needs with new technology. We are a fast growing company in a high growth industry, we are publicly traded, and we are comprised of some of the most dedicated and impressive salespeople you'll find. Come on board and tackle an exciting and green challenge.

Responsibilities:

As our new Business Development Manager for EnerNOC's SiteSMART solution, based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, or Boston, your primary responsibility will be to generate energy efficiency revenue for the company by establishing new business opportunities with existing customers, prospecting for new customers, developing new relationships, and ultimately securing commercial business contracts to achieve aggressive annual sales plans. Leveraging your existing relationships in energy management, as well as your skills at developing new ones, will get you started on the right foot as you utilize your in-depth knowledge of facility management and energy efficiency strategies to hone in on early adopter customers ready to deploy new technology.

Qualifications:

  • You will rely heavily on your experience utilizing solution selling to sell products and services to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers.
  • Your ability to quickly establish credibility with customers, partners, suppliers, market influencers, upper management, and your fellow salespeople will also be key to your success.
  • Candidates with an enterprise software background are encouraged to apply but will need to demonstrate enthusiasm for energy and experience selling into similar markets.
  • Your background running the entire sales cycle - from lead generation through to contract signing - will be critical in this exciting role. Your passion for clean technology markets is required and will keep you attuned to our efforts.
  • If you are passionate about energy and making a positive impact on the climate crisis, you can have no bigger platform to leverage your talents than joining our team.
