Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to develop business through existing defined Grundfos markets and channels, engaging non-government organizations (NGO's), specifically, electric utility entities.
This role will support the mutually beneficial market transformation of standard low efficiency pumps and pumping systems to high efficiency products that Grundfos offers to our respective markets.
The success within this role will be demonstrated by the number and quality of programs developed with targeted electric utilities, the associated sales of high efficiency Grundfos products and the complete engagement and development of respective sales channels in this process.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties:
- Utility Engagement - Primary responsibility will be to identify and assess existing energy efficiency organization, infrastructure and programs, identify key personnel and key business objectives/drivers within the specific electric utility.
- Develop key relationships, aggressively working to develop mutually beneficial energy efficiency initiatives and programs utilizing Grundfos high efficiency pumps, pumping systems and that leverage our existing strength of distribution.
- Demonstrate Energy Efficiency Savings - through the utilization of relevant and appropriate product information and data, demonstrate desired energy savings for proposed initiatives and programs. Organize and efficiently execute relevant and appropriate pilots test programs as required.
- Sales Channel Engagement - as specific initiatives and programs are developed with targeted utilities, a primary responsibility of this position will be to communicate, train and engage the appropriate sales team(s) to realize effective optimization of the relevant and appropriate initiatives and programs.
- Other - as needed this position may be asked to develop and or coordinate activities related to and supporting our work with targeted non-government organizations/electric utilities and associated organizations.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- The successful candidate will have a strong technical/mechanical aptitude and project management abilities as demonstrated by formal educational training and/or through professional job experience.
- This position will require the candidate to understand sales distribution channels and be able to work with and motivate sales individuals and sales partners to engage effectively in the programs developed.
- In addition, the candidate will have an understanding of business models and be able to understand underlying motivations of various types of enterprises.
- The candidate will have strong communication skills.
- Verbally be capable and confident in communicating and influencing up and down an entire organizational structure.
- For utilities, working with and effectively communicating with dedicated technical and commercial individuals and teams and as well confidently presenting to and interacting with executive management.
- The candidate will be able to effectively develop appropriate presentations and proposals, representing our organization at the highest level in every written form and alternative medium used.
- It is very important that this individual have a team orientation in his/her personal and professional profile interacting with others on their team and within their organization naturally and effectively.
- They must be self-motivated and be able to comfortably and effectively work in an open independent environment.
- In addition, be comfortable in a developing role as the team and initiative further matures.
- In addition to the technical skills and competencies that this individual will bring to this position, the ability to be innovative and creative in this role will be very important.
Education and Experience:
- Four year degree required.
- Technical degree desired.
- Experience with high efficiency mechanical equipment/systems preferred.
- Experience with high efficiency pumps and pumping systems and the extrapolation of related energy savings preferred.
- Experience in developing or administering electric utility rebate programs desired.
Additional information:
- Travel expectation for this position will be 60-75%.
