Position Overview:

As a Business Development Manager for Greenavise based out of Silver Spring, Maryland, your mandate will be to call on commercial customers to educate and sell them on our portfolio of energy efficiency/sustainability solutions. You will own the sales process from lead generation through contract signing, utilizing your experience with all aspects of the sales cycle.

Prime requirements are a strong interest in green technology and experience with designing a sales program with short and long-term strategies. The ideal candidate will need to know how to conduct commercial sales activities by identifying and developing prospects and leads, educating clients and the public, maximizing rebate and tax incentives, preparing and presenting contracts, closing deals, signing contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

You will develop, manage and execute Greenavise's sales activities to achieve revenue/profit and market share goals; generate new business and ensure growth for existing accounts; maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential accounts; and, resolve customer issues/problems.

Applicant must be a self starter and be collaborative with all parties throughout the full cycle of a sales contract. This position requires knowledge of direct sales and the ability to "think outside the box". This fast paced sustainable consulting firm experiences continual change and the person must be able to think on their feet.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and respond to leads from both new and existing customers
  2. Drive day to day sales activities and customer relationship management to expand sales
  3. Interface with existing/new customers throughout sales cycle
  4. Prepare monthly sales revenue reports and strategic action plans
  5. Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, bids, and quotations
  6. Execute tasks of negotiation, securing orders/contracts, after sales service, technical support, and customer conflict resolution
  7. Performing preliminary site survey analysis for job estimating
  8. Support industry groups as needed and nurture relationships government and community to promote corporate brand/products
  9. Document monthly activities, prepare presentations for sales meetings and support CEO with regular market updates
  10. Use technical knowledge of standard product offerings and custom products capabilities to support and build sales

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years minimum sales experience
  • Applicant must be articulate with proven writing skills and have a strong working knowledge of MSOffice applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Requires a positive attitude, sales experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Requires a wide degree of creativity to develop new business
  • Knowledge or experience in the sustainability industry, energy efficiency, energy service company (ESCO) or performance contracting a plus
  • Knowledge of finance or accounting
  • A cooperative spirit and ability to work effectively with others in a group setting is a must
  • Excellent sales, customer service, and phone etiquette skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and quick trouble shooting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task, work in fast pace environment under tight deadlines
  • Exhibit professional, pleasant, warm demeanor and appearance in all situations

Compensation: Commission based
