Hyperion Catalysis International, which is headquartered in Cambridge Massachusetts, USA, has been manufacturing and selling its FIBRILTM carbon nanotubes for a wide range of applications since 1983.  Hyperion's flagship FIBRILTM technology is a conductive, multi-walled carbon nanotube. Hyperion supplies its FIBRILTM nanotubes, pre-mixed, in a range of matrices. These nanotube composites are in commercial use in a growing number of automotive, electronics and other applications. The FIBRILTM nanotubes are used to impart electrical conductivity and other benefits that are related to the unique structure of the nanotubes.

Position Overview:

The role of the Business Development Manager is to drive continued advances in the Electronics / Semicon market (50%) and to lead the effort to validate new markets and applications for Hyperion's Fibril Nanotube technology (50%).

Responsibilities:

  • Drive continued growth in the Electronics and Semicon markets.
  • Contact and specification at OEMs.
  • Develop and implement strategy & tactics for new opportunities:
    ?Target generation & Market Research (80/20) on target investigation areas.
    ?Validate Fibril value/fit at OEM and supply chain.
    ?Develop and implement marketing and sales strategy.
  • Technical and sales presentations.
  • Lead, manage and participate in cross-functional team sales efforts at large multi-location accounts.
  • Knowledge building and application: Continued development and use of technical understanding of Hyperion products and capabilities from development to full scale production.
  • Travel approximately 25 to 40%.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of sales and/or technical market development in industrial markets and applications.

  • Including, but not limited to, Electronics, Semicon, Energy Storage, Oil & Gas, and Alternative Energy (Wind & Solar Energy, Fuel Cells, etc.).

Business development experience:

  • Proven sales account development and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical/business programs and close business.
  • International (Asia) experience a must.

Knowledge of engineering materials including:

  • Thermoplastics (engineering), Thermosets (Resins and Elastomers)
  • Conductive materials (carbon black/fiber, static dissipation)
  • Coatings, Additives & Composites

Inquisitive technical and business problem solver / digger / driver

  • Use application and material knowledge, coupled with analytical and project management skills to identify opportunities.
  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams, and individually to provide resources to achieve customer and organizational objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: develop relationships and drive programs to close (internal & external)
  • Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree in the physical sciences or engineering.

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 (Yearly Salary)

Location: Cambridge, MA (preferred) but willing to discuss alternative non-Hyperion locations.
