Description

EnerNOC unlocks the full value of energy management for our utility and commercial, institutional, and industrial (C&I) customers by reducing real-time demand for electricity, increasing energy efficiency, improving energy supply transparency in competitive markets, and mitigating emissions. We accomplish this by delivering world-class energy management applications including DemandSMARTTM, comprehensive demand response; SiteSMARTTM, data-driven energy efficiency; SupplySMARTTM, energy price and risk management; and CarbonSMARTTM, enterprise carbon management.

Our Energy Network Operations Center (EnerNOC) supports these applications across thousands of C&I customer sites throughout the world. Using our C&I customers' energy usage flexibility, we make capacity, energy, ancillary services, and carbon products available to grid operators and our more than 100 utility customers on demand as a cost-effective alternative to traditional power generation, transmission, and distribution.

Position Overview:

EnerNOC, which has operated at the forefront of the clean tech world since inception, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to help further our success in the demand response sector.  As the voice of the user on an agile software development team, you will be responsible for providing the business requirements in the form of user stories.

This role will present you with diverse opportunities, allowing you to utilize the full gamut of your expertise to ensure the development of the features that delight our users.  You are eager to take ownership and will thrive in our fast-paced and challenging environment, as we are looking for someone we can entrust with our requirements efforts and rely on to get things done.  Consequently, you will be viewed as a critical member of our delivery team and poised to make a visible impact as the voice of the user, becoming our subject matter expert on articulating their pain points and proposing creative solutions to their problems.

EnerNOC is focused on the creation of long-term relationships, rather than individual transactions.  If you're looking for a role that combines requirements analysis aptitude, world-class technology, and changing the way organizations manage energy, look no further than EnerNOC.

Responsibilities:

As our Business Analyst, based in Boston, your primary mission will be to aid in the delivery of new features for EnerNOC's enterprise software as a service platform by communicating the business requirements of our internal and external users for our demand response products and services.  Working on our DemandSMART application, you will provide guidance to the engineering team and training to the end users for your features.

Working with Application Managers, you will prepare business cases for new feature developments and present to the product leadership team.  You will also elicit user requirements from internal and external users of various EnerNOC platforms and write business requirements in the form of actionable user stories for EnerNOC's Engineering team.  While providing user interface mock-ups and user workflows you will also serve as a product owner and attend daily Scrum (stand up) meetings with the Engineering team.

Acting as the liaison between the business and Engineering teams, you will resolve problems and contribute to improvements in the Product Development Life Cycle.  Your ability to communicate feature statuses and technical challenges to Product Management, Engineering and Operations teams will serve you well as you contribute to Quality Assurance activities.

Qualifications:

You will leverage your exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to communicate with various constituencies on a regular basis and will also rely on your direct experience with software development life cycle including Scrum/Agile development.  You will bring an enthusiasm for our culture of not taking ourselves too seriously while taking our work very seriously as well as a high level of attention to detail.

If you have a desire to have fun with a committed team that is passionate about making the energy industry more efficient, effective, and environmentally sustainable, then apply today!
