Wildscape is a small environmental consulting and contracting firm. Our staff has a broad range of experience that totals over 35 years in biological resource services, cultural resources services, planning, and permitting. In particular, we have expertise in conducting surveys, mapping, monitoring, and regulatory compliance. Our biological services include focused species surveys, biological assessments, habitat restoration, non-native invasive species removal, permitting, and environmental planning.
In addition to providing consulting services in these areas, Wildscape also offers contracting services such as preparing project sites, clearing and grubbing, weed abatement, obtaining plant material through local collection or nurseries, installation of plant materials, and site maintenance. Wildscape is a licensed general engineering contractor with the State of California and also a licensed qualified applicator (QAL) with the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, including right-of-way and aquatics classifications.
Position Overview:
The Biologist position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience providing biological consulting services. Position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's in a Biological Science and/or equivalent knowledge. Responsibilities include field surveys for flora and fauna of Southern California, special status species surveys, habitat assessments, wetland delineations, revegetation monitoring and data collection, vegetation mapping/surveying, habitat restoration/invasive plant removal, mitigation implementation, preparation of biological resource assessment documents (CEQA/NEPA), preparation of biological constraint/impact reports, and development of mitigation measures. Task and project management duties will depend on experience.
Required skills include extensive knowledge of Southern California flora and fauna. Desired skills include advanced analytical, writing and communication skills, and a degree in the environmental/biological sciences. This position requires regular and frequent communication, feedback, and coordination as support to other Project Managers and Principals.

- Excellent proficiency in Excel - design spreadsheets and knowledge of basic formulas and formatting; charts and graphs a plus
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe Acrobat - document production and forms
- Prior experience with word processing and document production desired.
- Ability to conduct field work in strenuous conditions, including hot, cold, or wet weather and/or steep terrain.
