Position Overview:
The Bay Area Climate Collaborative (BACC) is looking for a highly qualified candidate to fill our BACC Program Director position. The Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership of the BACC, the steering committee and it's working groups covering areas such as electric vehicles, solar and green building standards, alternative energy, energy efficiency, etc. The Program Director ensures all BACC initiatives are high-quality, are measureable and support the guidelines of the Bay Area Climate Compact.
Position Status: Contract; long-term
Responsibilities:
- Develop and direct implementation of BACC's multi-year program plan and budget.
- Develop and implement a funding action plan that outlines administrative and programmatic funding opportunities, public-private partnerships, grants, endowments, and if appropriate, the potential for a membership dues structure.
- Secure program funds through grant development, corporate partnerships, or other fundraising.
- Serve as a lead facilitator on the BACC Steering Committee and BACC Leadership Group.
- Represent BACC to appropriate local, regional, state and national organizations.
- Stay current on greenhouse gas reduction initiatives at the local, regional, state and national levels.
- Facilitate partnerships that advance BACC's mission and working group initiatives.
- Responsible for the development and delivery of all BACC working group initiatives.
- Demonstrate a leadership role in developing working group initiatives and BACC strategies.
- Facilitate the development of BACC strategies, work plans, budgets, best practices, or any other strategic/managerial BACC activity.
- Develops, directs and implements public relations and communication strategies to support BACC goals and increase community awareness program.
- Identify and recruit subject matter experts and subject knowledge individuals to support the BACC Leadership Group, the BACC Steering Committee and the BACC Working Groups.
- Resolve conflicts within the Leadership Group, Steering Committee and Working Groups as needed.
- Perform other planning and management duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree with at least 10 years experience in environmental program development or equivalent experience.
- 10 years experience in program management, budgeting, and program implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to secure program funds through grant development or other fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability in growing organization to meet expanding business and operational needs.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively develop donor and partner relationships.
- Excellent organizational development, strategic planning, management and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain multi-sector, collaborative partnerships..
- Excellent public speaking, writing and analytical skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS-Office, Databases, etc.
- Ability to travel throughout the region to attend meetings and functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in program management, environmental policy, or business.
- Experience in non-profit management.
- Experience in building collaborative partnerships with private sector, municipalities, government agencies and non-profit entities.
- Strong preference given to candidates that have Bay Area contacts in the municipal, business and non-profit sectors in the areas of climate change, alternative energy, and energy efficiency.
Work Week: Monday - Friday, with evenings and weekends as needed.
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000
