The Environment and Resources Division (ERD) assists federal and state environmental and resource management agencies address complex policy, management, and regulatory challenges. Our range of services include economic analysis, risk assessments, environmental modeling, regulatory and voluntary program support, and IT solutions.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will plan, manage, and conduct a variety of economic and environmental analyses to support federal environmental rulemaking activities and related guidance development and outreach and communication efforts.
The candidate will have extensive client contact and translate client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables in a timely and cost-effective manner. The candidate will ensure that all research projects are conducted with sound methods and techniques.
The candidate will also lead business development efforts, involving proposal preparation and the identification of new markets and sales opportunities while maintaining current clients. The candidate will review the work and provide technical guidance to less senior staff, and serve as a resource capable of applying advanced techniques, concepts, and methods.
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have a Master's degree or Ph.D. in environmental management, economics, environmental engineering, or related discipline, and 4 years (with a PhD) to 7 years (with a Master's degree) experience in the fields of environmental policy, guidance development, or regulatory analysis.
Excellent oral communication, writing, and analytical skills are essential. The candidate should have proven technical expertise and experience in business development, client relationship management, and supervision/staff development. Strong quantitative skills are preferred.
Experience with federal environmental policy and regulatory development -- particularly related to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) -- is highly desirable. Direct experience managing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or related prime contract task orders is required.
