Position Overview:
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) is seeking qualified applicants for 2 full-time Planner positions in the Planning Branch. Under the general direction of the Branch Chief for Planning (both long and short-range), this position will be working with applicants, partner agencies, technical consultants, and local jurisdictions, and will be responsible for environmental and design assessment of development and project proposals in the Lake Tahoe Region for conformance with the Agency's Regional Plan and Code of Ordinances.
The position involves some independent judgment, extensive public contact, and technical review of development proposals and projects of medium complexity. The position will be required to manage environmental impact determinations relating to development proposals and coordinate with various technical consultants to implement environmental gain as a part of project design.
In addition, the incumbent may be assigned both shorter-term project review applications as well as long-range comprehensive Regional Plan updates. Either may involve preparing various planning documents, including Plan Area Statement Amendments and Code of Ordinances Amendments, as well as preparing and presenting staff reports to the Hearings Officer, Governing Board, and others, and representing the Agency at public and project-related meetings.
Compensation: $52,315-$65,539/yr
