Job Description:

The Associate Program Officer is part of a core technical team at CHF Headquarters to provide leadership and technical support to its field microfinance operations worldwide.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project management of CHF microfinance subsidiaries and credit programs;     
  • Compile and analyze monthly data from micro finance subsidiaries and programs;     
  • Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements and loan performance data for reporting to senior management;     
  • Provide field program backstopping - including preparation of budgets, work plans, other documents;     
  • Participate in new business initiatives, including research, conceptualization, writing, and review of business plans;     
  • Follow latest trends and best practices in the microfinance industry; conduct special research projects as requested;     
  • Assist with organization of annual conferences and occasional trainings, general office administration, and coordination of travel;     
  • Regular attendance is required;

Job Qualifications: 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;     
  • Strong analytical, research and writing skills;     
  • Knowledge of principles of international finance and accounting;     
  • Experience and knowledge of financial analysis;     
  • Outstanding organization and MS Excel abilities;     
  • Strong interest in microfinance and international development required; field experience with microfinance programs in developing countries preferred;     
  • Must be able to travel independently;     
  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Banking, Economics, International Development, or related field;     
  • Able to read and interpret documents, and communicate with others as necessary to perform job duties effectively;     
  • English fluency required; Additional language (Spanish or Arabic) capabilities a plus;     
  • Basic skills and able to perform job specific mathematics;     
  • Able to sit at a computer and operate a keyboard, for extended periods of time.
