Since 1999, Ecology Education, Inc. (dba: Ferry Beach Ecology School) has provided innovative outdoor science education programs (residential, day program fieldtrip, and outreach to schools) & publications for schools and individuals throughout northern New England.
Position Overview:
Ecology Education, Inc. (EEI) of Saco, Maine seeks an Associate Director to manage grants, fundraising, events and PR/marketing. The Associate Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Board Directors to expand the scope, funding & visibility of the EEI mission to foster stewardship for the Earth by educating youth and adults in the science of ecology and the practice of sustainability.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director will manage all aspects of Grants, Fundraising, Communications and PR/Marketing. They will report directly to the Executive Director. The EEI Associate Director duties will include:
- Manage Grants & Fundraising Research, Proposals and Reports.
- Marketing for all Programs, Publications and Events.
- Coordinate Public Relations & Fundraising Events.
- Manage Database & Mailings.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to ecology and sustainability education along with a vision for more effective fundraising, marketing, public relations, and publications.
- Significant professional experience (5 years+), preferably in a nonprofit organization with a similar or related mission.
- Demonstrated skills in grant research, proposals and reports.
- Desire and ability to enhance and expand EEI fundraising efforts, especially in coordinating semi-annual fundraising and public events.
- Ability to coordinate database management (FileMaker Pro) and expansion.
- Skills in graphic design including experience in web design (Dreamweaver) and publications (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop & Pagemaker).
- Enthusiasm for collaboration, creativity, innovation and sustainable growth.
Compensation: The Associate Director will receive a starting annual salary of $37,000 plus performance-based bonuses, retirement (3% match), health insurance (Anthem HMO), and one month paid vacation/holidays plus one week sick leave.
