Resources Law Group(r), LLP, seeks an Associate Attorney with a strong
academic record and outstanding practice skills to join a unique and growing
natural resource practice in Sacramento.
Background:
Resources Law Group is an innovative law and consulting firm that helps public
agencies, private landowners, philanthropic foundations and others identify and
achieve strategic natural resource conservation goals. The firm contains
multi-disciplinary teams of attorneys and consultants with extensive backgrounds
in federal, state, and local government, as well as the non-profit sector. The firm
engages principally in matters pertaining to the conservation of land and water
resources, creating solutions for difficult issues in land-use planning and natural
resources law and policy. The firm has extensive experience in regulatory natural
resource planning processes, particularly pertaining to the state and federal
Endangered Species Acts, and the development and negotiation of natural
community conservation plans and habitat conservation plans, together with
matters pertaining to the federal Clean Water Act section 404 program.
Duties:
The conservation associate position encompasses a wide range of
responsibilities, including researching and analyzing state and federal natural
resource laws, policies and regulations, representing public and private clients
before state and federal regulatory agencies, drafting legal documents, and
consulting with clients.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least three years of experience in the field of natural
resources law, preferably including experience with the federal Endangered
Species Act. Real Estate experience and land use planning experience are also
desired. Creativity, exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills, and the ability
to work independently are important. Excellent writing skills are essential.
