Position Overview:
Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation seeks an Assistant to the
President to serve as administrative support in an active office with an 18
member Board of Directors. Candidates must be proficient technologically and comfortable in a sophisticated, fast-paced, highly professional environment. Competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant to the President supports the president in all aspects of her work for Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
Tasks may include:
- Drafting and revising letters, memos, contracts and reports as requested
- Tracking president's correspondence appropriately
- Setting up and confirming appointments for the president
- Assembling materials, presentations and data for president's appointments
- Scheduling and coordinating committee and task force meetings
- Taking minutes at meetings and providing support to Board, Executive and Governance Committees and others as appropriate
- Scheduling, planning, set up and implementation of quarterly board meetings
- Preparation and distribution of quarterly board materials
- Coordinating and assisting with organizing public events hosted by Berkshire Taconic
- Managing President's Office initiatives as directed by President:
- Berkshires Audience Initiative
- Early Childhood Development Initiative
- Center for Nonprofit Excellence Seminars
Qualifications:
In addition to having strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the candidate needs to be:
- Highly organized to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Highly proficient with technology
- Familiarity working with a database
- Appreciative of high professional standards
- Discrete

Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in working with databases, including reporting and doing mail merges, as well as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Three years administrative experience in a professional office
- A strong interest in the work of the Foundation and the nonprofit field
Education
- Minimum Bachelor of Arts/Science degree required
Compensation: $16 per hour for 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Benefits include health insurance, contribution to retirement plan, life and long term disability insurance, vacation, and sick leave.
