Position Overview  

Green Mountain College, an innovative liberal arts college with an environmental focus, seeks to fill the full-time position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Sustainable Design in the Renewable Energy and Ecological Design (REED) program with technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: 

  • Ecological design;
  • Design-build;
  • Digital design; 
  • Digital fabrication; or
  • Green building practices.
The REED program facilities include a dedicated 20-student design studio and a fabrication shop complete with a CNC router, 3-D printers, and full woodworking capabilities.  

Responsibilities   

  • Teaching duties include upper and lower level design studios, design-build courses, and upper level courses in the applicant's area of interest.
  • The successful candidate will also contribute to the College's award winning Environmental Liberal Arts general education program. 

Qualifications  

  • The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary background and a strong interest in applying sustainable design strategies to innovative design-build projects.
  • A terminal degree in architecture, design, or related interdisciplinary field is preferred, with professional experience a plus.
