Position Overview:
Applications Engineer for inverter and related solar PV solutions, working with customers in the Western USA market. The primary role is to enable solar inverter customers to qualify and design in Chint Power Systems (CPS) product for new projects; typical customers include solar integrators, EPC's, Financier/Developers and Distributors.
Responsibilities:
- Provide applications expertise and build relationships with solar inverter users in the Western USA
- Secure user confidence and ease customer experience for the application and design in of CPS products
- Develop reference designs and optimization modeling including options and trade-off insights
- Create and organize applications and site design proposals and presentations for customers
- Be the regional expert for product trends, competitor solutions and applications best-practices
- Collaborate with sales and services teams to build relationships, establish new business with customers
- Participate in planning and execution requirements to ensure optimal customer experience
- Contribute to sales driven account plans for top target customers
- Collect and organize market trends and competitive insights for CPS product line development
- Participate in, and represent company at industry events, building the esteem and identity of CPS
Qualifications:
- Solar and/or energy industry engineering and applications experience, 2-5 years is ideal
- Knowledge of solar PV applications and technology (residential, commercial, utility, power conversion)
- Experience building relationships with customers and channels; direct, partners, distribution
- Globally minded, experience with Asia based operations and engineering resources
- Experience with industry modeling tools such as; PVSyst, PVSol, NREL SAM etc
- Knowledge with industry standards and codes (NEC, UL, IEEE, utility interactivity, SunSpec etc.)
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Multiplexer, agile, solution minded, growth oriented, problem solver, willingness to travel regularly
