The Yosemite Fund is the primary nonprofit fundraising organization for Yosemite. Since 1988, The Yosemite Fund has supported over 200 projects totaling nearly $50 million in support.
Our donors sponsor projects that fix trails, restore vital habitats, preserve art and artifacts, provide educational experiences for visitors, and survey and protect Yosemite's wildlife.

Position Overview:
The Annual Fund Manager (AFM) is part of the development team and reports to the Director of Development of Yosemite Fund. She/he is responsible for creating and implementing fund raising strategies to meet budgeted income goals. The AFM will appropriate strategies to upgrade donors to higher giving categories and create prospects for the planned giving program. In addition, the AFM works with outside consultants in the design and execution of the direct response fund raising program. Activities will include defining, building, budgeting for and executing an integrated annual fund-raising campaign plans.
Responsibilities:
Produce, direct and implement annual fund raising campaign plans and strategies:
- Supervise the annual fund program
- Create fund raising opportunities and the incentive for giving
- Create and provide benefits related to annual fund programs
- Work collaboratively with Major Gift Manager to identify donors
Manage Internal and External Communications:
- Supervise the creation of the direct mail program materials
- Develop reports using Raisers Edge
- Design donor acknowledgment systems
- Review and prepare special donor correspondence as required
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing direct response fund raising programs
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with sufficient speed and accuracy
- Basic knowledge of database software (e.g. Raiser's Edge) preferred
- Strong spreadsheet skills and the ability to analyze numbers
- Ability to understand and manipulate basic fund raising data points.
- Outstanding verbal skills: in-person, by phone; able to quickly establish rapport with colleagues and the public
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to articulate the mission of the Fund
- Polished writing skills, including proofing and editing
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Exceptional organizational skills, attentive to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Exceptional accuracy and confidentiality dealing with donor information
- Ability to distinguish "special cases" or exceptions in routine situations
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Commitment to the mission of The Yosemite Fund.
- Knowledge of and interest in Yosemite National Park, the outdoors, and conservation
- A sense of humor is encouraged and appreciated
Working Conditions:
- Occasional travel within the Bay Area; possibly to/from Yosemite National Park
- Some weekend and evening responsibilities
- Predominately works at desk/computer workstation
- High degree of phone use
- Frequently moves about the office to collaborate with colleagues
- Occasionally may walk on uneven ground while on trails in Yosemite Park.
- Lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 30 pounds
