Description

Cascade Land Conservancy fills a unique niche as the largest land conservation, stewardship and community building organization in Washington State.  For over 20 years, The Conservancy has led efforts to conserve more than 155,000 acres of forests, farms, shorelines, parks and natural areas.  It has partnered with dozens of communities across the region to protect and restore our neighborhood trails and parks and helped cities make smart choices about future growth.

Position Overview: 

Coordinates annual fund and membership campaigns and fulfillment. Responsible for meeting annual fundraising goals, including solicitation, cultivation and retention. Works as a team member to support the whole development program and success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Annual Fund Management 50% time:

  • Develop strategies and implement annual fund plan to retain, renew and acquire members, securing between $80,000 and $120,000.
  • Manage direct mail campaign. Work with internal and external vendors for all donor renewals, including lapsed, renewal and new member acquisition programs.
  • Develop and implement moves management plan for stewarding and upgrading members who give $500+; includes working systematically with the Constituent Relationship Management Team to move members to higher levels of giving.
  • Manage annual giving and member recognition programs.
  • Manage membership budget, monitoring revenues and insuring expenses are within budgetary guidelines.
  • Key contact for workplace giving programs, corporate matching gift programs and internet giving programs.
  • Ensures that all annual giving and member gifts are entered accurately into the database and acknowledged in an appropriate and timely fashion.

Communications 25% time:

  • Works with staff to manage annual giving and member communications including responding to member queries and the production and inventory of annual giving and membership materials, e.g. letters, newsletters, e-newsletters and brochures.
  • Supports Marketing Director with tasks as assigned.

Events and Administrative Support 25% time:

  • Provides support for fundraising events, taking on specific tasks as directed by supervisor or VP for Development. Such tasks include communication with guests, production of collateral and assistance in event implementation.
  • Recruit volunteer members for County events, including annual breakfast.
  • Administrative duties as assigned by supervisor or VP of Development.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. degree and/or fundraising certificate and minimum 2 years fundraising experience.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with a track record in planning and implementing successful direct mail and membership programs targeted at donors of <$1,000.
  • Good budgeting and donor/member relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Raiser's Edge knowledge preferred.
