Position Overview:

The Analyst is responsible for assisting in the analysis, underwriting, structuring and closing of potential investments in projects with triple bottom line (financial, social and environmental) return potential - primarily real estate and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities:

Financial & Project Analysis:

  • Coordinate project underwriting and due diligence
  • Create financial models, prepare pro forma financing structures and conduct NPV and IRR analyses
  • Analyze the structure and potential benefits of tax-credit derived financing and public financing tools
  • Analyze projects' triple bottom line returns; evaluate economic, social and environmental impacts 
  • Prepare internal and external investment summaries

Project Management:

  • Provide transaction closing coordination at the direction of UFA's Associates 
  • Work with Asset Management and Compliance team to manage project reporting requirements
  • Support New Markets Tax Credit applications, as well as applications for other competitive federal programs and grants
  • Participate in and contribute to project meetings and conference calls
  • Assist with a wide variety of research projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree; preferably in business, finance or real estate
  • Relevant work experience in real estate, energy, commercial or investment banking preferred
  • Commitment to community development and sustainability

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent financial and business analysis and modeling skills
  • Ability to think creatively and problem solve
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to seamlessly manage multiple projects
