Established in 1992, Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC) is a nonprofit dedicated to the long-term health of our county's economy, environment and social equity by educating about sustainability. SSMC is a small office with 4 paid employees and over 50 dedicated volunteers.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time professional to help us in our San Mateo office. The Administrator will work closely with and under the supervision of the Executive Director and Board Chair. Position available immediately. This position is a great opportunity for anyone looking to advance their career in the sustainability field in a professional, well respected non profit.
Responsibilities:
• Help organize and manage SSMC Events - including our Award Event in March
• Organize and enter donor data into SSMC's Exceed Database
• Manage ongoing and new programs such as SSMC's Sustainable Business Seminars
• Maintain relationships with media representatives, write press releases
• Help manage a membership program
• Serve on various Committees and attend meetings (take minutes as appropriate)
• Maintain email contact list and assist producing/writing SSMC newsletter
• Manage and maintain SSMC website
• Related administrative office tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2-4 years office experience, bachelor degree
• Strong writing skills, media relations experience a plus
• Program management and development skills preferred
• Solid organizational skills
• Events management experience preferred
• Web/Computer savvy essential!: MS Office, Internet required and database management preferred (Telosa Exceed experience a plus)
• Dependable: able to work without close supervision
• Detail oriented with an ability to multitask
Salary: $30,000+ DOE.
