The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 18,000 corporate and organizational members from every sector of the building industry, united to transform the building marketplace to sustainability, currently has opportunities for personable, detail-oriented and highly organized administrative professionals to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to several of its dynamic and fast-paced teams.
Position Overview:
The Administrative Associate role entails providing efficient and comprehensive administrative support to either executive staff members or broader teams. Responsibilities include handling calls and email traffic, data entry, scheduling and supporting meetings and educational programs, planning travel, preparing documents, filing, research, report preparation and copying. Each Administrative Associate will be an important member of a team that will help others to work more efficiently and effectively while maintaining organization and keeping others informed and on task. Ideal candidates work well in teams; have excellent customer service skills; enjoy a fast-paced environment; and have a track record of taking initiative.
Experience as administrative assistant in legal environment and with legal filing systems also desired.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience working in a office environment
- Strong computer skills including demonstrated fluency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management, internet, e-mail, mail merge
- General knowledge of office equipment
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Team player with ability to work well with a diverse professional staff, take on special projects and work independently and to exercise independent judgment when appropriate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including mastery of grammar and spelling
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain timelines, meet deadlines, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Commitment to USGBC mission
Compensation: Salary from mid-$30K's to mid $40K's depending on experience. Compensation includes excellent benefits package, including fully-paid premiums on health insurance and matching 401(k) program.
