Position Overview

Reporting to the Global Controller, the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for all areas relating to the management of the general ledger (GL) and related financial reporting-both accounting and managerial. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including month-end-close process, reconciliations, internal reporting, GL analysis, and year-end audit preparation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the value of ongoing process improvement within an advanced cloud accounting environment.

BSR uses Intacct's financial management and accounting applications and the candidate must be confident of his or her ability to thrive in an evolving, fast-paced, multi-currency, multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities 

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close, according to deadlines.
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Assist the Global Controller in producing financial reporting by foreign entity and at the consolidated BSR level.
• Oversee the payroll function and supervision of the Payroll Administrator.
• Maintain local tax books in Intacct and maintain foreign tax schedules and accruals.
• Assist the Global Controller with tax filings and compliance.
• Implement process improvements, system improvements, and new accounting policies.
• Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources.
• Proactively research and document technical accounting issues and procedures. 
• Serve as a key interface with outside auditors on technical accounting positions and procedures.
• Respond to the Finance team and project managers regarding inquiries about financial results, special reporting requests, and ad-hoc projects, as necessary.

Qualifications 

Only candidates with these specific requirements will be considered: 

• B.S. in Accounting. CPA or on the CPA track a strong plus.
• 5-7 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably in a headquarters environment, with exposure to a multi-currency, multi-entity organizational structure. Experienced in AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Revenue Recognition, ME Reconciliations, GL Management, and Payroll.
• High ethical standards and commitment to BSR core values of leadership, respect, and integrity.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Previous experience with Intacct and Salesforce.com a plus.
• Ability to effectively work with departments throughout the organization and with global staff.
• Attention to detail and accuracy while working to meet tight deadlines.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex accounting guidance to stakeholders of all levels across multiple functions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, including working knowledge of revenue recognition.
• Public accounting experience a plus.
• Experience working in a professional services firm preferred.
