Position Overview:

The role of the Account Manager Renewable Energy (Solar Markets, North America) encompasses all of the primary sales and go-to-market functions associated with the development, commercialization and marketing of Guardian's products for Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Concentrated Photovoltaics (CPV). The primary responsibilities of this position are focused on sales leadership and account management for the category. Secondary responsibilities involve direct participation and support of the core product development and marketing activities of the Solar Energy Team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership:

  • Identify and build a strong pipeline of qualified regional sales prospects within the defined market segments (with a core focus on the Photovoltaic markets). This includes all customer qualification and due diligence activities.
  • Develop and maintain customer and prospect relationships from initial contact to contract signing and close.
  • Directly participate in and manage the customer needs analysis, product specifications development (for non-standard products), pricing/financial analysis and contract negotiations for all accounts.
  • Providing on-going, senior level account management for customers within these market segments after the initial sale.

While the Account Manager has primary responsibility to drive each of these core activities directly, this person will also provide leadership and coordination of all regional and local (plant-level) sales and marketing resources to ensure the success of these efforts.

Secondary Responsibilities:

In addition to the Primary Responsibilities listed above, the Account Manager will also play an active role in the following core activities of the Solar Energy Team:

  • Business Reporting (including customer and sales reporting on a monthly basis).
  • Market and Competitive Research.
  • Product Development (including direct participation in all Stages of the Stage Gate process for new products where input is needed from Sales and Marketing).
  • Marketing program development and execution (including sales toolkit development, product literature, samples, trade shows, website development, advertising, promotion and PR activities, etc.)
  • Assisting with the sales and sales management process for other Solar Energy products as needed.

Company Impact:

This position should significantly and positively impact our sales activities and results in this market segment. Preliminary projects are that this position would directly and indirectly drive at least 300% in sales growth over 3 years.

Qualifications:

Specific Job Requirements/Skills:

  • High levels of competence in all core B2B national and regional selling and account management skills including: relationship building; qualitative and quantitative analysis; consultative selling; complex deal negotiating; creating and delivering presentations, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex sales prospects and to understand and explain the technical aspects of the products being sold
  • BA/BS Degree or higher
  • Core Sales and Account Management Skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Must be highly motivated and results-oriented
  • Must posses the ability to understand highly technical information and be able to translate it for multiple audiences
