The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC), founded in 1986, is a non-profit organization with approximately 160 employees. VEIC's mission is to reduce the economic, social, and environmental costs of energy consumption through the promotion of cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
Position Overview:
The Account Manager for the Renewable Energy Incentive Program (REIP) is responsible for the day to day outreach and communications with market participants in New Jersey's renewable energy markets. The Account Manager is responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of strategies and program processes to promote sustained market development. This includes proactive market outreach to both developers and potential host sites in the on-site wind, bio-power, and solar markets.
The Account Manager is responsible for facilitating, tracking and reporting upon progress towards goals in each market sector and important market sub-segments (e.g. municipal installations), and for maintaining and improving communications with market actors across the state while to contributing to a mission-driven, creative, enjoyable and stimulating work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for active outreach and market development to the REIP eligible wind and bio power market segments.
- Facilitate and manage the technical assessment assistance available to potential REIP wind and bio power developers and/or host sites.
- Maintain regular contact and communications with market trade allies and critical market actors (e.g. through workshops, meetings, email and/or newsletters, and one on one contacts). Identify and communicate critical issues from the field impacting program delivery and progress towards goals.
- Provide customer and contractor support to track project status, information on program requirements and processes, and identify inactive and expired projects.
- Work with team's technical and training staff to identify and deliver high value training and technical support services to market actors.
- Facilitate and or contribute to Small Wind and Bio Power working groups.
- Coordinate and provide support for the renewable related activities of other team members assigned to the ENERGY STAR New Homes, and Home Performance with ENERGY STAR market segments.
- Following guidelines established by the REIP Program Management Team, coordinate the delivery of renewable market services and the recruitment of trade allies with the Commercial/Industrial Market Manager (TRC)
- Support trade ally recruitment activities by the Honeywell and CSG staff for the ENERGY STAR New Homes, and Home Performance with ENERGY STAR market segments, lead trade ally recruitment in other market segments.
- Contribute to the development of annual REIP program work plan and new program procedures and processes.
- Participate in REIP Program Delivery Team, providing analysis and reports on progress towards goals, issues, and activities.
- Provide primary levels of dispute resolution, and quality control with respect to external clients and customers.
- Provides support to the activities of VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
- Bachelors degree in business, economics, marketing, engineering, public policy plus a minimum of 5 years experience within the energy industry or related field, with at least 3 years experience in renewable energy and/or energy efficiency markets, or a similar combination of education and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Demonstrated customer service and business development skills.
- Knowledge of the latest renewable energy technologies, costs, and market dynamics with demonstrated knowledge of wind and bio power preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including effectiveness in persuasive communications and conflict resolution techniques.
- Ability to facilitate group discussions and meetings.
- Facility with techniques of economic analysis.
- Ability to handle competing priorities.
- Proven ability to be organized, detail oriented and accurate.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
