Position Overview:

The Account Manager will promote NYSERDA's Commercial Lighting Program and related end-user incentives for energy-efficient lighting solutions to contractors, distributors and manufacturers representatives in the designated area of New York.  The Account Manager will provide program information to these market players and assist them in identifying and specifying energy-efficient equipment and lighting layouts.  Additionally, they will help recruit new business partners for the Program. 

The Account Manager will carry out these outreach responsibilities through direct contact with market players (on-site visits) and by providing email, telephone, and other support.  The Account Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that market players have sufficient stocks of outreach brochures, applications, and other collateral material. The Account Manager will be called upon to assist in promoting the Program at special events (counter days and other promotions), coordinate efforts with end users, and to assist the Business Partners in completing project applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote NYSERDA's Commercial Lighting Program and related end-user incentives for energy-efficient lighting solutions to contractors, distributors and manufacturers representatives
  • Provide program information to market players and identify energy-efficient equipment and lighting layouts
  • Recruit new business partners for the Program

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands on experience in the Lighting and/or electrical industry, preferably in sales, and knowledge of lighting equipment and controls
  • Sales / Business development experience
  • Ability to work independently from a home office
  • Ability to travel in New York State

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Lighting Certified by NCQLP preferred
  • Interest or background in energy efficiency is desired
  • Experience with energy efficient lighting equipment or design.
  • Familiarity with electrical contractors or distributors.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
