The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent not-for-profit organization that holds the largest database of corporate climate change information in the world, gathered on behalf of institutional investors, purchasing organizations and government bodies.  

Position Overview: 

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is seeking a highly motivated individual with skill sets in web-based data analytics, GHG accounting platforms and customer service to support CDP's relationships with Reporter Services member companies in North America. The position is based in CDP's New York office and will report to CDP's Senior Account Manager for Reporter Services.

The position is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to contribute significantly to the future development and implementation of CDP Reporter Services' global strategy to assist the largest corporations in the world in managing their climate change strategies.

The successful candidate will have the ability to balance strategic project planning while delivering exceptional account management support for corporate contacts at a range of seniority levels and with diverse needs and expectations. Attention to detail and the highest-level of organization are fundamental to this role, as is the ability to identify opportunities, to gather member feedback, and to act on this information on behalf of accounts. Self-motivation and drive to take initiative are integral to success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide phone and email support for individual accounts regarding:
    • Membership tools-CDP Analytics (based on SAP Business Objects OnDemand) and Emissions Reporting Tool (a light version of SAP Carbon Impact OnDemand)
    • CDP Information Request, scoring and response process
  • Lead WebEx-based training webinars for sizable groups on technical issues related to membership tools, GHG accounting, and the CDP Information Request
  • Manage logistics of member events including roundtables, webinars and special forums
  • Develop and update user guidance documents for membership tools
  • Extensive development and testing of CDP Analytics reports
  • Create custom reports or assist with data entry support related to the membership tools as requested by member contacts
  • Collect case study information on accounts and actively participate in case study development
  • Manage and create content for a members-only resource webpage and monitor web traffic
  • Maintain internal database of account contacts and document all support activity with contacts through the database

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A university degree in a related subject
  • At least 2-years work experience in corporate sustainability, carbon management and / or GHG accounting preferred
  • Confidence in speaking about the GHG inventory accounting process and the business implications represented by climate change
  • Excellent presentation and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Proven account / relationship management ability
  • Project management and customer service experience
  • Desire to take ownership and responsibility for particular areas of work
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office programs-especially Excel
  • Expertise in the following web-based database platforms or the aptitude to train on these systems to an expert level:
    • Microsoft Dynamics CRM
    • SAP Business Objects OnDemand
    • SAP Carbon Impact
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Analytical skills; able to spot trends and opportunities as well as focus on details as required
  • Able to see the bigger picture and think of new and better ways to achieve program goals
  • Self-starter that is confident with a certain amount of autonomy
  • Fluency in Latin American Spanish or business experience in Latin America an additional advantage

The successful candidate will work 5 days per week, must be able to work legally in the US, and be able to travel nationally and internationally as required.

Compensation: Competitive NGO salary, annual bonus, 24 days holiday, non-contributory pension provision after 3 months employment.
