Position Overview:

An Account Executive is responsible for identifying and securing biomass for quasars anaerobic digesters. This includes managing deliveries from existing clients and sourcing new biomass supplies to maximize capacity. The Account Executive frequently makes decisions with the aim of protecting the financial resources and reputation of the company.

Responsibilities:

Biomass/Procurement:

  • Source new feedstock customers for planned or operational facilities. May make cold calls.
  • Visit customers to collect samples for routine laboratory tests or analyses to assess biofuels quality.
  • Responds to customer and supplier inquires about order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Work with quasars Manager of Biomass and Logistics to determine transportation and depackaging costs for materials when necessary.
  • Negotiates tip fees and contracts with customer with the approval of quasars in-house legal department.
  • Performs market research for new and operational facilities to expedite the sales process.
  • Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
  • Tracks status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
  • Obtains daily updates from Laboratory regarding digester health, feed rate, and general characteristics of the digesters.
  • Obtain information from Project Management department regarding projects in pipeline and the potential biomass needs.
  • Consults with Engineering department about biological issues, dilution/pumping problems, contamination, and new feedstocks.
  • Updates Marketing department regarding new opportunities, tours, and presentations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Must wear personal protective and safety gear when visiting customers or at plants.
  • Travel by car approximately 4 days/week.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Associates Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in a sales position.
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
  • Must have experience with purchase orders and quotes.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable, honest, and ethical.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must be able to consider implications while making on-the-spot decisions.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations while remaining calm and thinking clearly.
  • Must be able to work well with internal and external customers, both over the phone, via email, in person, and in front of groups.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities.

Compensation: $48,000 plus commissions
