UpWind Solutions was founded in 2007 to serve a growing demand for quality wind turbine services in North America and across the globe. We were founded on the belief that an innovative approach is required when dealing with the challenges in our industry today. We assembled a group of leaders whose unparalleled experience and unique skill sets have brought us the unique ability to drive wind projects forward faster, thus maximizing NPV.
We have been intimately involved with many different wind turbine manufacturers and the development of their products. Our experience includes the construction and operation of more than 3000 MW of onshore and offshore projects in North America including the construction and operation of two offshore wind projects. Today our staff of close to one hundred trained and certified technicians is available to perform a wide range of tasks including operations, maintenance, asset management, inspections, construction oversight and upgrades.
Position Overview:
Responsible for supporting the Vice President of Business Development by promoting UpWind Solutions services to new and existing customers. The focus of this position is to maintain and grow the base business, focus on complex solutions, and drive new business opportunities. This position requires extensive travel. Option to be anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, and availability.
- Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
- Monitor contract expiration dates.
- Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements, within approved guidelines.
- Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
- Utilize a formal, organized and systematic approach to prospect potential and current customers
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers' needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of wind turbine operations, maintenance, and general industry information.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of computer software, including commonly used office applications.
- A 4 year degree in business or marketing, or equivalent work experience.
- 2 to 4 years experience in the wind industry required.
- Sales and Application Engineering experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Must be willing to take initiative and work with little or no supervision.
- This position requires persistence, dependability, attention to detail, and adaptability.
- Must work to the highest ethical standards.
