Civic Works, Baltimore's urban service corps and an AmeriCorps program, was founded in 1993. Our mission is to build a future for Baltimore's youth through community service and skills development. Since its inception, Civic Works has trained and assisted more than 2500 Baltimore area participants in performing community service projects, developing job readiness and life skills, and finding employment.  

3E Energy Solutions' mission is to provide home improvement services that make your home healthier, more comfortable, and more energy efficient,while creating "green" jobs in Baltimore!

Position Overview: 

3E Energy Solutions is starting additional teams.  Civic Works is recruiting qualified 'Project Leaders" to lead field operations.

The 3E Project Leader will lead a crew of installers through operation to improve a building's energy efficiency (including the installation of alternative insulations, air sealing, Cool Roof applications, and other home energy improvements as necessary).

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and oversees home energy upgrades and installations
  • Leads and directs air sealing operations
  • Leads and directs insulation installations
  • Directs Cool Roof operations
  • Leads and directs othe residential energy retrofits as necessary
  • Oversees safety of workers and quality of work 
  • Interacts with clients to guarantee client satisfaction
  • Works cooperativelty with Project manager to schedule projects and prioritize implementation
  • Prepares estimates and reports as directed
  • Creates cohesian between field staff and management

Qualifications:

  • Hard worker invested in environmental & community improvement  
  • Valid Driver's license and car are required
  • Flexible and adaptive personality
  • Desire to work with a diverse staff and diverse selection of clients
  • combination of relevant experience (carpentry, remodeling, residential construction, supervision) and education (environmental science, building science, business management, energy efficiency) 

Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of residential constrcuction & building systems
  • Awareness of and desire to learn the principles and practices of building science
  • General knowledge of math, science, and environmental trends
  • Generals knowledge of Baltimore City and surrounding counties 

Skills:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled at training, motivationg, and leading others
  • Skilled at delegating tasks to achieve efficient performance 

Abilities:

  • Ability to establish priorities, delegate responsibility, and effectively balance completing work tasks with overseeing the work of others
  • Ability to meet or exceed deadlines without compromising performance
  • Ability to interact effectively with both administrative and field task in a manner that satisfys project goals and objectives
  • Ability to lead others in a manner that creates other leaders
