Executive Director

Lemon Bay Conservancy (LBC), a well-established nonprofit (founded 1971) dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural lands and waters of the Lemon Bay aquatic system, seeks a dynamic Executive Director..

This is a hands-on, chief executive role reporting to the Board. You’ll lead all operations, strategic initiatives, and growth, working closely with our dedicated volunteer team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Grow Our Impact: Serve as the primary fundraiser and public ambassador, securing major gifts and grants to fuel conservation land stewardship and education programs.
• Lead the Mission: Direct day-to-day operations, foster a strong volunteer environment, and guide the strategic direction of the organization.
• Drive Advocacy & Outreach: Serve as the public face and ambassador, leading conservation efforts, advocating for sound environmental policies, and facilitating environmental education programs.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred;
• Strong experience in fundraising/donor cultivation;
• Exceptional public speaking/communication skills; and
• A deep understanding of Florida’s coastal/estuarine habitats.
