Grassroots Campaign Staff

~ Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE) was formed in 1985 by a small group of concerned citizens who recognized the need to provide public involvement to advance stronger environmental policy. ~

Today, after 25 years as a not-for-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization, CCE has grown to an 80,000-member organization with offices in Farmingdale, NY, White Plains, NY, Albany, NY, Syracuse, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Hamden, CT. CCE continues to work to empower the public by providing members with opportunities to participate in the political process and thereby advance a strong environmental agenda.

Our Campaign staff educates New Yorkers about current legislation having to do with the environment. Our staffers organize individuals and communities in a way that maximizes their combined voices to effect state and federal legislation having to do with public health and the environment. Currently we are working on the issue of hydro-fracking as well as improving water quality around the state.

Position Overview

• Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE) is now hiring for full time entry level Grassroots Campaign Staff in our Syracuse, Farmingdale, and Hamden offices, and part-time phone staff in Farmingdale, to educate the public on crucial environmental issues and to advance environmental policy at the local, state, and national level.
• Work Monday-Friday 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Since 1985, CCE campaign staffers have gained valuable non-profit, advocacy, and campaign experience. Members of our dynamic and progressive team work in an upbeat and fun environment while gaining continuous training in environmental and political issues.

CCE is looking for upbeat, personable, articulate individuals to join our grassroots campaign staff to affect change on key environmental and public health issues. CCE’s grassroots campaign staff educates and activates citizens and empowers the public to have a stronger voice in the development of public policies and legislative agendas.

Responsibilities

• Inform and educate citizens on crucial environmental issues.
• Inspire citizen activism through petition signing, membership, and letter writing to targeted public officials.

Compensation

• Farmingdale: $540+/Wk
• Hamden: $490+/Wk
• Syracuse: $450+/Wk
